Introduction

According to the school's positioning and the development needs of disciplines and specialties, the School of Energy and Materials of Shanghai Polytechnic University was established in 2021. The College consists of the Department of Energy Engineering and the Department of Materials Engineering. The Department of Energy Engineering includes the majors of New Energy Science and Engineering and Energy Storage Science and Engineering (declared); the Department of Materials Engineering includes the majors of Materials Science and Engineering (New Energy Materials and Engineering), Materials Chemistry and Composites Manufacturing Engineering. 2021 was approved as the master's point of Materials and Chemical Engineering. The college is a PhD point (cultivation) construction unit and Pudong New Area post-doctoral innovation practice bases construction unit, approved by the new energy power generation engineering category of national vocational education dual-teacher teacher training bases and vocational education national training program demonstration training bases, with the Shanghai Engineering Research Center of Advanced Thermal Functional Materials, Shanghai Thermal Properties of big data. It has Shanghai Advanced Thermal Functional Materials Engineering Technology Research Center, Shanghai Thermophysical Big Data Professional and Technical Service Platform, two provincial and ministerial platforms and Shanghai Key Laboratory for Application and Evaluation of Engineering Materials.

There are more than 50 faculty members in the college, and 100% of the full-time teachers have doctoral degrees, including 15 professors and 16 associate professors, including New Century Outstanding Talents from the Ministry of Education, recipients of Special Appointment (Eastern Scholar) from the State Council, Special Professors of Eastern Scholars, Shuguang Scholars, and Eastern Talents. The research of the School focuses on the field of dual-carbon, with thermo-functional materials and energy-saving and new energy materials as the main directions of research. The main Materials Science and Engineering plateau disciplines were established in 2008, and after more than ten years of construction, it is now a key discipline (Class B) in Shanghai, a plateau disciplines in Shanghai High-Level Universities in Shanghai, and a key discipline of the university. The college has always taken talent cultivation as the fundamental task, with more than 600 undergraduates and 200 master's degree students. The college implements the concept of New Engineering Education, looks forward to the international first-class majors, takes engineering certification as a hand, and actively promotes the construction of Double Ten Thousand first-class majors and first-class courses. Materials Science and Engineering is a first-class undergraduate programs in Shanghai and a first-class undergraduate degree programs in Shanghai; Materials Chemistry is a first-class undergraduate programs in Shanghai and approved as a second bachelor's degree programs in Shanghai; and Composites Manufacturing Engineering has become a cooperative program with Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co. More than 60 teaching and research papers have been published, which have significantly improved the Education and teaching level of teachers.
