New Materials Jinqiao Industry Alliance of Shanghai Universitiesand Jinwan Industry-University-Research Base was formally established in theafternoon of April 17th, which was co-sponsored by Science and EconomyCommittee of Pudong New Area, Jinqiao Management Bureau of FTZ, Jinqiao Group,Shanghai Jiao Tong University, East China University of Science and Technology,Shanghai University, Shanghai University of Science and Technology, ShanghaiUniversity of Applied Science and Technology, Shanghai Polytechnic Universityand Shanghai Polytechnic University No.2. Lu Min, Secretary of the PartyCommittee of the University, Zhao Ning, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committeeof Shanghai University of Technology, Shen Neng, Secretary of the PartyCommittee and Chairman of Jinqiao Group, Ling Gang, Chief Engineer of Scienceand Economy Commission of Pudong New Area, Yan Junjie, Deputy Director ofJinqiao Administration of FTZ, Wang Yuanyuan, Dean of School of Energy andMaterials of the University and Deputy Director (on posting) of JinqiaoAdministration of FTZ, Zhu Lili, Member of the Party Committee of JinqiaoGroup, Vice Dean of the Party Committee of Jinqiao Group and more than 30industry-related units such as upstream and downstream enterprises of the newmaterials industry, incubators and financial institutions and other thirtyindustry-related units to participate in this event. At the establishmentceremony, each university brought a wonderful interpretation of cutting-edgeresearch topics in the field of new materials, and Professor Yu Wei from theSchool of Energy and Materials of the University made a project roadshow on thetopic of "New Thermochromic Intelligent Window".

Lu Min said, Shanghai six colleges and universities materialsschool together with the Jinqiao Authority and Jinqiao Group, the three partiesactively explore the comprehensive, diverse, deep-seated industry-university-researchcooperation mode, is the Shanghai "school-government-enterprise"cooperation, empowering the development of the industry of the new prototype.Relying on the policy resources of Jinqiao Authority, giving full play to theindustrial carrier service experience of Jinqiao Group, and utilizing thescientific research and talent training advantages of materials colleges ofvarious universities, the cooperation realizes the sharing of resources and thecomplementation of each other's strengths, so that the research results of thenew materials will be transformed into productive forces as soon as possible topromote the landing of the new materials industry scenario, and to provide thesupport for the development of Shanghai's new materials industry, which is oneof the top ten new tracks of the new productive forces layout.

Ling Gang said that the new materials industry, as a core partof the national strategic emerging industries, has shown its great potential topromote social and economic development. Pudong New Area has been committed toinnovation-driven development, while universities are an important source ofscientific and technological innovation, and enterprises are the main force forthe transformation of scientific and technological achievements. Therefore, itis necessary to continue to deepen the cooperation between industry, academiaand research as a key path to accelerate the industrialization andmarketization of scientific and technological achievements.

Yan Junjie said that Jinqiao Development Zone will provide thebest policy services and create the most favorable business environment. It isbelieved that under the joint efforts of the alliance members, Shanghai Jinwanwill not only become a highland for innovative research and application of newmaterials at home and abroad, but also inject a new impetus into thedevelopment of new materials industry in Shanghai and even the whole country.

The establishment of the Shanghai University New MaterialsJinqiao Industry Alliance and Jinwan Industry-University-Research Base willpromote the resource integration and collaborative innovation of the alliancemembers. By building a platform, the Industry-University-Research Alliance andthe base will help to open up the upstream and downstream of the industrialchain, realize the synergistic optimization of the key core technology research,the supply of raw materials, the manufacturing of products, market application,etc. It will provide the scientific research achievements of the universitieswith a direct access to the market, which will help to shorten the time cycleof new materials from laboratory to production line, accelerate thecommercialization and industrialization of scientific and technologicalachievements, and enhance the competitiveness of new materials industry in theregion and even the country.
