In order to further strengthen the professional construction of Materials Science and Engineering, improve the professional training oftalents, and better serve the needs of the emerging industry of "newenergy materials and devices", the School of Energy and Materials held aseminar on the professional construction of MaterialsScience and Engineering and talent cultivation in the meeting room of No.212, Building 28, on June 5, 2024, to discuss the new concepts and new modesof talent cultivation, and to promote the quality and efficiency of theprofessional construction of Materials Science and Engineering. The seminar washeld in the conference room of Building 28, Room 212, to discuss the newconcepts and modes of talent cultivation, and to promote the quality andefficiency of Materials Science and Engineering professional construction. Wang Yuanyuan, Dean of School of Energy and Materials, Chen Lifeiand Xu Jinguang, Vice Deans, Gan Weiwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, all teachers of Materials Science and Engineering, and representatives of enterprises attended the meeting.

At themeeting, Wang Yuanyuan, Dean of School of Energy and Materials, introduced theconstruction of the School, and Li Wenqin, Director of Materials Science and Engineering, reported on the construction of Materials Science and Engineering and the future planning of talent training.

In the free discussion session, Lv Jiajing from Shanghai Biren Technology Co., Ltd, WangRuiliang from Loho High-Tech Materials (Shanghai) Co., Ltd, Huang Jinhai,General Manager of Shanghai DaoYi Chemical Technology Co. Ltd. and ShanghaiParallax Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and Prof. Kong Lingxue, the overseas masterteacher of our institute, shared and exchanged their views on the standard oftalent demand of Materials Science and Engineering related industries, thepractice of industry-teaching integration of professional talent cultivation,the positioning of professional talent cultivation, and the construction ofindustry-academia-research bases, respectively.

At the endof the meeting, Dean Wang Yuanyuan expressed his heartfelt thanks to theparticipating experts and put forward clear requirements for the late revisionof the talent cultivation program in light of the experts' opinions. TheDepartment of Materials Science and Engineering said that it will activelyadopt the valuable opinions of the experts, based on the actual situation,combined with the needs of the industry and society, to further improve thetalent cultivation program, and contribute to the cultivation of morehigh-quality talents.

After theseminar, a signing ceremony for the school-enterprise cooperation betweenSchool of Energy and Materials and Shanghai Piren Technology Co., Ltd. was alsoheld, and at the same time, Yang Yuheng of Shanghai Paralan Bio-technology Co.,Ltd., Zhang Can, Deputy Director of R&D Center of Shanghai Aowei TechnologyDevelopment Co., Ltd. and Huang Jinhai, General Manager of Shanghai DaoYiChemical Technology Co., Ltd. were hired as part-time tutors, hoping that thedeep cooperation with enterprises can cultivate professional and technologicaltalents that are needed by the society. We hope to cooperate deeply withenterprises to cultivate professional and technical talents needed by thesociety.
