       On the morning of August 29,President Xie Huaqing led a delegation to visit Shanghai ETC Digital TechnologyCo., Ltd. (Hereinafter referred to as "ETC Digital TechnologyDivision"). Zhou Ye, Director and General Manager of the Section, andrelevant business heads warmly received the delegation. The two sides conductedin-depth exchanges on such topics as in-depth integration of production,education and research, school-enterprise collaboration, and low-carbontechnological innovation in the context of the "dual-carbon"strategy.

Zhou Ye introduced the overallsituation of ETC in terms of its development history, core technology layout,construction of digital carbon management platform and industrial demonstrationapplication. He said that Easy Carbon is an Internet company that focuses onquantitative cloud computing of carbon emission data in industrialmanufacturing, and he hoped to build on the existing cooperation and build onthe strengths of the school in disciplines and talents. Jointly build a newmode of school-enterprise cooperation featuring "demand traction, jointtackling of key problems, and sharing of achievements," and help realizethe national goal of "dual carbon."

Mr. Xie spoke highly of theachievements of ETC in the field of digitalization of carbon emissions, andintroduced the school's positioning and discipline construction. As well as inthe reform of applied talents, such innovative modes as"housing-enterprise joint training" and "work-studyalternation" have been adopted. He said that the school was activelypromoting the construction of a featured innovation platform, and expected tocooperate with ETC in building a joint laboratory, jointly promoting importantprojects and jointly cultivating high-end talents, so as to build a model ofcollaborative innovation between the school and the enterprise.

Subsequently, the two sides hadin-depth discussions on specific cooperation issues such as the construction ofcarbon footprint database, the formulation of carbon management standards, theconstruction of "dual-carbon" education demonstration bases, and thejoint cultivation of graduate students, and reached a number of consensus. Inthe next step, the two sides will establish a regular coordination mechanism topromote the implementation of the intent of cooperation as soon as possible. 

Before the meeting, Xie and hisdelegation had a cordial exchange with some alumni of our school working in thecompany. Heads of the President's Office, the School of Energy and Materials,and the School of Economics and Management participated in the survey.
