Recently, the 7th Shanghai University Young Teachers Teaching Competition was successfully held. Co-sponsored by the CPC Shanghai Municipal Education and Health Work Committee, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and the Shanghai Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, and organized by the Shanghai Education Trade Union, the competition aims to improve the teaching capacity and comprehensive literacy of young university teachers. A total of six young teachers from our university participated in the competition. Two teachers from the School of Energy and Materials, Gu Xiaokun and Zhao Xueling, won the Third Prize in the Applied Natural Science Discipline Group, fully demonstrating the solid teaching foundation and excellent professional demeanor of young teachers in our school.
This achievement embodies the school’s educational philosophy of “promoting teaching, learning and reform through competitions”. It also reflects the school’s consistent emphasis on the cultivation of young teachers and continuous efforts in teaching reform and quality improvement. In the future, the School of Energy and Materials will further leverage the exemplary and leading role of teaching competitions, summarize experience and reflect on teaching practices, and promote outstanding teaching cases and advanced teaching methods. The school will encourage young teachers to devote themselves to teaching, fulfill the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and improve their professional teaching capabilities, so as to empower the high-quality development of the university and cultivate more high-quality applied talents.
